The regional government is finalizing plans to convert the former San Javier airport into an aerospace innovation hub. The facilities, co-financed with ERDF funds, will house technology companies and the European Space Agency's (ESA) new incubator in the region.

The transformation of these facilities is part of the program CAETRAA regional initiative that seeks to promote dual-use technologies with applications in defense, security, and reconstruction. The design includes flexible modules with the capacity to house between six and eight companies, as well as key support infrastructure for business development.
The facilities will include two multipurpose classrooms that can be certified by the Regional Employment and Training Service , a meeting room, administrative offices, a multipurpose room, and storage and telecommunications areas. The councilor emphasized that the initiative goes beyond simply renovating a building. Headquarters of the European Space Agency's incubator
One of the most important milestones of the project is that these facilities will house the new incubator.
