105 HETEL Vocational Training students travel to 10 European countries to do internships in companies

Thanks to the Erasmus+ program

For 13 weeks, the young people will carry out internships in leading companies and organisations such as the Provincial Veterinary Inspection Agency (Wojewódzki Inspektorat Weterynarii) in Krakow, PANalitycal in Eindhoven, the University of Limerick in Ireland, or the Officina Meccanica GRISI sr in Milan.

Students going abroad is becoming more and more common for several reasons: to improve their knowledge of the language of the destination country, to expand their CV, and in recent times, also to look for a job opportunity in the company where they do their internship. In addition, Capabilities Plans Basque companies is becoming increasingly important, and with it the necessary availability to travel of the technicians and professionals of our companies. In the 20 centers of the association HETEL Every year, students are encouraged to do three-month internships in European companies thanks to the program Erasmus+.

 

Specifically, a total of 105 students -23 girls- from the second year of intermediate and higher level vocational training cycles are already working in leading European companies, and will remain there until June. Of the 105 students, 44 are from Biscay, 36 of Gipuzkoa and 25 of Alava.

 

The internships are carried out in companies from various countries such as Ireland, Italy, Germany, Poland, France, Czech Republic, United Kingdom, Netherlands, or Portugal. And some of the companies or organizations where they are doing internships are the Provincial Veterinary Inspection Agency (Wojewódzki Inspektorat Weterynarii) in Krakow, PANalitycal in Eindhoven, the University of Limerick in Ireland, or the Officina Meccanica GRISI srlen Milan.

 

 

 

Students undertake internships in companies in various European countries such as Italy, the Netherlands, Ireland, the Czech Republic, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Belgium, Malta and Poland.

 

 

 

At the end of the internship, around 20% of companies or organizations also offer a work contract to students, an offer that some of them end up accepting. Furthermore, for another significant percentage this experience opens up avenues for employment upon their return.

 

This initiative, in which HETEL has been actively participating for more than 10 years, and is part of the European Erasmus+ mobility programmes -for students of Intermediate and Higher Level Vocational Training Courses-. The 96 young people from Vocational training Those participating in this initiative are students from HETEL centres who are in their second year of a medium or higher level vocational training course, are between 18 and 21 years old, and are doing their internships in companies (FCT) abroad between the months of March and June. 

 

In this context, HETEL, faithful to its innovative vocation and its desire for internationalisation, enables students at its centres to benefit from programmes that seek to promote the development of the European dimension in training. Participation in these programmes also contributes to the development of participants' language skills, boosts their confidence, their ability to adapt and their inclination to work in a team, and adapts their training to the needs of companies in an increasingly globalised market.

 

These mobilities also have the co-financing of The Caixa, framed in the agreement between Hetel y The Caixa and in which the commitment to the internationalisation of young people occupies a relevant place.
