During this period, 752 internationalization activities have been organized in 95 countries - which represents three activities a day - with 18.485 business participation in its activities and programs.

The Board of Directors of ICEX Spain Export and Investments has approved the Activities Report, the financial statements and the non-financial statements (Sustainability Report and Corporate Governance Report) for 2022.

 

According to Activities Report, 18.617 companies trusted ICEX services in a year marked by the greater presence of actions developed together with multilateral development institutions; with entrepreneurship as a hallmark of the house and ICEX as another actor in the ecosystem, and the growth of the audiovisual sector on the international stage, thanks to the program of the Government 'Spain, Audiovisual Hub of Europe'.

 

During 2022, ICEX focused on the needs of companies, for which it has focused its service catalog on six major pillars: information, talent, financing, promotion, networking and logistical support. Under this framework, they have organized 752 internationalization activities in 95 countries - which represents three daily activities - with 18.485 business participation in its activities and programs.

 

In addition, 51.475 queries about 165 countries have been answered; 1.288 new reports - market, sector and fairs - have been published and 18 new country tokens, and 1.525 personalized services have been provided to companies by the economic and commercial offices abroad.

 

Regarding the attraction of foreign investment, the committed project portfolio of ICEX-Invest in Spain has amounted to 6.915,88 million euros, which is estimated to generate 20.698 jobs.

 

 

Internationalization and sustainability

 

During the past year, ICEX has worked to promote the positive connection between internationalization and sustainability as a solution to the great global challenges.

According to the 2022 Sustainability Report, ICEX has supported a total of 107 sustainable internationalization activities for Spanish companies and 37 for foreign companies with interest in Spain as a destination for its direct investments; 2.432 companies have been registered in this area, and 12 new inclusive business opportunities have been identified thanks to the ICEX Impact + program. In the area of 'Woman and Internationalization', 34 new interviews have been carried out with leading women and more than 50 links of interest have been disseminated.

Likewise, 21.000 tenders for opportunities have been published in multilateral organizations, with more than 500 participating companies, and 27 foreign direct investment (FDI) promotion events linked to sustainability have been held. And in the field of training, 363 students have taken the course NOOC in Sustainable Internationalization.

Good government

Likewise, in 2022, ICEX has also taken another step to make sustainability a transversal element of its actions and in its relationship with the environment and its stakeholders. With this commitment, the organization contributes its grain of sand to achieve a more sustainable internationalization of the economy, both economically and from the perspective of its social and environmental impact.

In this sense, a published Guide to Responsible Clauses, whose purpose has been to make available to all those people who manage contracts, agreements and calls for aid a document that guides and facilitates the inclusion of sustainability elements, with very positive results.

Finally, note the commitment to ICEX's environmental projection in 2022, which is reflected in the Code of Ethics and Conduct.

These are some of the figures from a year in which the foreign sector has revealed itself, once again, as the essential growth engine for economic recovery, and in which ICEX celebrated its 40th anniversary, with the presence of His Majesty the King at the commemoration ceremony.
