53 technicians work for Madrid's exports

To further advance the internationalization of companies in the Community of Madrid, starting this month, and thanks to programs from the Chamber of Commerce-Ifema and CEIM-PromoMadrid, 56 foreign trade specialists are working on this initiative across Africa, the Americas, Asia, and Europe. This is the first agreement of the newly created Coordination Committee for Business Internationalization, comprised of the three aforementioned organizations.
The primary role of the technical experts abroad is to actively support Madrid-based companies at every stage of their internationalization. They are also responsible for promoting the Community of Madrid as a trade fair hub, business center, and tourist destination. Specifically, their duties include supporting and assisting companies during their prospecting trips; promoting Madrid as a destination for foreign investment; conducting market research to identify business opportunities for Madrid exporters; coordinating trade missions and business cooperation meetings; and participating in trade fairs, among other responsibilities.
The Committee's main objective is "to foster a favorable environment for the development of Madrid's businesses and economy," says Salvador Santos Campano, president of the Committee and first vice president of the Madrid Chamber of Commerce. Through the coordination of the international activities of its three member entities, the aim is "to promote the internationalization of companies in our region," he adds.
Díaz Ferrán, the driving force
The driving force behind these agreements has been Gerardo Díaz Ferrán, president of CEIM and the Chamber of Commerce, and they are outlined in the Strategic Plan that the Madrid Chamber approved last September. This Plan refers to the joint collaboration between the three entities in all activities related to organizing workshops on foreign markets and foreign trade techniques. The organizations' leadership is convinced that having exporting companies guarantees the quality and price of Madrid's products. Increasing the presence of these products in new strategic markets is another key objective.
