Lingokids, a Spanish startup specialized in learning content in English for children of early ages, continues advancing its global positioning, and now has more than 60 million families using its app around the world, making it today one of the leading edTechs in the field of language learning. During 2022, the company has added 20 million new families who have installed the application, which represents a business growth of 50% compared to the previous year.

A recognized and awarded career
Lingokids is one of the leading startups in the Spanish entrepreneurship ecosystem. Its current team is made up of 160 people, being the Engineering and Marketing areas those that have grown the most in 2022. It has maintained a uniform and continuous progression since its birth in 2016, and has raised 65 million dollars from investors such as Ravensburger and funds like Holtzbrinck Ventures, JME Venture Capital, Sabadell Ventures, BigSur, Reach Capital, and business angels like Gwynne shotwell, president and SpaceX COO, the company of Elon Musk. Last year, the company Viva Technology included Lingokids on its annual list of the 100 next unicorns.
Furthermore, in 2022 it obtained important recognition: in its XIX edition, the Kidscreen Awards, the main awards of the global children's entertainment industry, awarded him the Award for Best Original Learning App. And she was a finalist for the UNICEF edTech Awards in the category of Best educational solution.
Another milestone worth highlighting was the agreement reached with Amazon to be one of the skills available on Echo devices through the service. Amazon Kids on Alexa. New channels: jump to the physical world and podcast
2022 will also go down in the company's history as the year it made the leap into the physical world. First, with the launch of its first board game, Lingokids Memory®, in collaboration with the historic German educational games company Ravensburger, which since 2021 has been an edTech investor. And second, with the launch, at the end of the year, of its new online store, where you can purchase mugs, notebooks, t-shirts and other products inspired by the characters of the Lingokids universe that complement the digital experience of the little ones.
In addition, it also created its own podcast channel, aimed at children, parents, and educators, becoming the first company in the online language learning sector for children to embrace this format as an extension of its traditional content. Through its three series (Growin' Up, Music to Our Ears, and Stories for Kids), the channel has already amassed 137 episodes and over 3 million downloads worldwide. It is worth noting that it won a silver medal at the Signal Awards, global awards in the recent podcast industry, and that its Stories for Kids series became No. 1 on Apple Podcasts in countries like Mexico, Spain or Poland.
Constantly updated digital content catalog
The company has a Educational Advisory Council formed by professionals with extensive knowledge in children's learning and educational technologies, and its contents are developed internally in collaboration with Oxford University Press following more than 650 learning objectives. Its catalog is constantly updated, and in 2022, 164 new activities were added that develop new academic and socio-emotional skills, bringing the number to more than 1.200, including songs, games, puzzles, quizzes and digital books.
