A DHL Express webinar reports on new business opportunities between Spain and Latin America.

 

 

Experts from DHL Express discussed sector opportunities, logistical support and key customs considerations to facilitate the international expantion.

 

This virtual event is part of an initiative of DHL Express to support the international growth of SMEs and focused on the advantages of exporting to Latin America. Antonio ArranzThe CEO of DHL Express Mexico highlighted Mexico's importance in the current geopolitical context and its key role in nearshoring to access the US market. "Mexico plays a very important role in nearshoring (nearshoring) And the Just-in-Time"Arranz stated."

 

Jalila Carrillo, CEO of DHL Express Central and South America, highlighted the diversity and potential of the 15 countries in the region, highlighting the e-commerce growth and the importance of cultural and historical ties with Spain. "We are the region in the world with the greatest growth in online shopping," Carrillo emphasized.

There are numerous reasons to consider Latin America as an export destination. Trade with Latin America allows Spanish SMEs to diversify their markets, reducing their dependence on european markets and increasing their resilience to economic crises.

 

These countries have shown sustained growth rates in recent years, indicating a potential demand for foreign products and servicesSpain maintains trade agreements with several Latin American countries, which facilitate market access and reduce tariffs.

 

These destinations have young and growing populations, which can translate into increased demand for products and services, especially in sectors such as technology, food, fashion, and services.

 

Fabian Villarroel, Director of Regulatory Affairs for Central and South America, addressed customs regulations, highlighting the strategic agreements between the European Union and Latin America that facilitate trade. "Customs regulations are based on global and international standards."

Alan CornejoThe CEO of DHL Express Colombia highlighted the strong trade relationship between Spain and Colombia, as well as the opportunities in sectors such as manufacturing, agribusiness, and fashion. "Spain is the second largest foreign investor in Colombia," Cornejo noted.

 

Manuel de Solà, Commercial Director of DHL Express Chile, spoke about the economic stability of Chile and the trade opportunities generated by free trade agreements. "Chile is in a privileged position to face the challenges of the future," Solà stated.

 

The webinar concluded with a Q&A session, where experts addressed topics such as logistics challenges, growing sectors, and customs regulations. Participants were also invited to a Spain-Latin America business forum to further boost opportunities for international trade.
