The State Delegate to the Free Trade Zone of Cádiz, Fran González , received the delegation, headed by prominent figures such as the President of the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services of Souss Massa, Said Dor , and the Consul General of the Kingdom of Morocco in Algeciras, Driss Soussi . Other business and municipal leaders from the Souss Massa region were also part of the delegation.
The mission was inaugurated at the APBC headquarters , with the participation of Fran González himself , who emphasized the importance of Spanish-Moroccan collaboration. The inaugural ceremony was also attended by the Mayor of Cádiz, Bruno García ; the First Vice President of the Cádiz Provincial Council, Juan José Ortiz ; and the Government Delegate of the Andalusian Regional Government in Cádiz, Mercedes Colombo.
During their visit to the Free Trade Zone, the Moroccan delegation attended a detailed presentation of the ongoing projects and activities of the Cádiz Consortium. González explained the new Industry 4.0 model implemented, including the Decarbonization Plan , the Incubazul startup incubator, and the new Industry 4.0 business incubator, ZF Blue Core.
The delegation also had the opportunity to learn firsthand about the operations of leading companies located in the Free Trade Zone. They visited the facilities of the logistics operator Cayco , a company with a long history in foreign trade, and Petaca Chico , a leading company in the food sector that has recently expanded its production. The Moroccan representatives were able to observe Petaca Chico's commitment to innovation and diversification, including its line of preserves and salted products, which features the innovative "sea ham" created in collaboration with chef Ángel León.
Fran González emphasized the importance of these types of meetings for "establishing contacts and promoting the Cádiz brand and our free trade zones," highlighting the customs and tax advantages they offer. He added that the Cádiz Free Trade Zone, with nearly a century of experience and a strategic location as "a natural gateway to the neighboring country," represents a significant opportunity to strengthen trade ties between the two regions.
