For €140 million
The Contract for the design and construction of the Opatow bypass road is valued at €90 million.
The General Directorate of National Roads and Highways of Poland has awarded ACCIONA, in consortium with its Polish subsidiary Mostostal Warszawa, the contract for the design and construction of the ring road of Abbot, valued at €90 million. Likewise, the University of Warsaw has awarded to Mostostal the contract for the construction of the new Faculty of Psychology, in the district of desire, for an amount of €30 million.

Furthermore, ACCIONA, through its Polish subsidiary, has also been awarded the construction of a residential building in Lodz for more than €10 million; and the rehabilitation of the Wigencja industrial complex in the same city, for cultural and commercial uses, worth another €10 million.
These works, for a combined value of €140 million, represent a new boost for ACCIONA in the Polish infrastructure market, where it has been operating for more than twenty years and has become one of the leading players in the sector.
The Opatow highway will include two sections, 5,1 and 6,7 kilometers long, respectively. The company will build two new links, as well as various engineering structures (overpasses, viaducts, bridges, animal crossings and culverts), as well as access roads, environmental protection devices - including acoustic screens - and infrastructure for pedestrians and cyclists. , lighting and drainage, and road safety devices.
The Opatow bypass will pass through the towns of Opatow, Lipnik and Sadowie, will alleviate traffic in the area, and improve the quality of life of its inhabitants, as well as the safety and comfort of travelers.
Less than seventy kilometers from Opatow, Mostostal Warszawa is also working on the construction of another bypass between Morawica and Wola Morawicka.
For its part, the Faculty of Psychology will have a building of more than 26.000 m2 distributed over eight floors, six above ground and two underground, as well as more than 30 classrooms to teach classes and an auditorium with capacity for about 400 people, as well as as laboratories aimed at research.
Furthermore, this new building will be characterized by its sustainable character, since during its construction ACCIONA will implement energy recovery systems and energy saving facilities, as well as renewable energy sources. As a result, the new faculty will meet the requirements necessary to obtain the prestigious certificate BREEAM. ACCIONA It hopes to complete the works at the beginning of 2024.
ACCIONA, in a consortium with its subsidiary, was awarded last year the construction of a 10,3 kilometer section of the S19 express road from the intersection Rzeszów Południe to Babica, southeast of Poland. The value of the contract is €500 million. The S19 will be one of the most technologically advanced infrastructures in the country, thanks to the use of a tunnel boring machine with a diameter of more than 15 meters for the construction of a double underground tunnel more than two kilometers long, at a maximum depth of 70 meters. .
In addition, the Polish subsidiary of ACCIONA signed the contract for the design and construction of the highway between Zaluski and the airport Modlin (about warsaw), 12 kilometers long, for €142 million.
Other notable works of ACCIONA in the country are the execution of the 11,5 kilometer section between Nisko Południe and Podgórze from S19 itself, worth €60 million; the ring road Steel Will (completed in May), 15,3 kilometers, a project valued at €44 million; or the design and construction of the section Zegrze Pomorskie-Klanino of the S11 highway, which will connect the central Baltic coast with the Upper Silesia, a 19,28 kilometer project for €105 million.
ACCIONA is present in Poland since 1999, through its subsidiary Mostostal Warszawa, one of the largest construction companies in the country, of which it holds 62,13% of the capital.
In the last twenty years, the company - directly, in a consortium or through Mostostal - has participated in the construction of the most important bridges in the country, such as the Siekierkowski or the one from Wroclaw and has also built highway sections, stations, subway tunnels and residential and commercial buildings.
