Acciona celebrates a key milestone in the construction of Line 6-Orange of the São Paulo Metro

The construction of Line 6-Orange of the São Paulo Metro reached a significant milestone with the completion of the excavation of the northern section, marking 60% progress on this ambitious project.

"Line 6 is an effect of urban transformation and social impact," Entrecanales stated, underlining the project's potential to unite the city and benefit more than 600,000 people daily.

This milestone strengthens Acciona's presence in Brazil, where it has developed iconic infrastructure and sanitation and water treatment projects for more than 25 years.

The project not only promises to improve urban mobility, reducing travel times from 90 minutes to 23 minutes, but has also generated a positive social impact. Acciona has contributed 135,000 hours of certified technical vocational training, promoting the inclusion of more than 900 women in the transportation sector. infrastructure and created 110 local jobs through electric mobility initiatives. In addition, it has supported a dozen local startups, boosting the innovation system.

With an investment of almost 2,000 billion euros, Line 6-Orange is the largest construction project underway in Latin America. It will connect Brasilândia, in the north of São Paulo, with the São Joaquim station, in the center of the city, transforming the lives of thousands of São Paulo residents.

This milestone reinforces Acciona's presence in Brazil, where it has been developing flagship infrastructure and sanitation and water treatment projects for more than 25 years. The recent award of the concession contract for sanitary sewerage services in 48 municipalities in the state of Paraná further consolidates its commitment to the country.
