ACCIONA achieves record turnover in 2024

ACCIONA has closed the 2024 financial year with solid financial results, posting record revenues of €19.190 billion, representing an increase of 12,7% compared to the previous year. However, the company's net profit fell by 22% to €422 million. This contrast is largely due to an environment of lower electricity prices and non-recurring accounting adjustments from the previous year.

The year 2024 has been a period of achievements and challenges for ACCIONA. Despite the reduction in net profit, the company has demonstrated a remarkable capacity to expand its business and improve its operational efficiency. Gross operating profit (EBITDA) reached 2.455 million euros, an increase of 24%, indicating a improvement in the profitability of operations.

One of the key factors contributing to the growth in revenue was the solid development of margins in the Infrastructure and Nordex divisions. Infrastructure division achieved record turnover of 8.146 billion euros, with an increase of 5,5%. The region of Australia and Southeast Asia represented the largest source of income for this division, followed by Latin America and Spain.

“Our Infrastructure division has performed exceptionally well, with major projects around the world. The awarding of new contracts, such as the I-10 Calcasieu Bridge motorway in Louisiana and the Suburban Rail Loop East project in Melbourne"This demonstrates our ability to compete and win in international markets," said an executive from the Infrastructure division.

ACCIONA's Energy division also saw significant changes in 2024. Despite a decline in total revenue, the company managed to advance its asset rotation plan, with the sale of 801MW of hydro. These sales, which include agreements with Elawan and Endesa, generated significant revenues and contributed to the company's asset portfolio optimization strategy.

“The sale of hydroelectric assets is part of our strategy to focus on high-value renewable energy projects. We are committed to the energy transition and will continue to invest in clean and sustainable technologies,” explained a representative from ACCIONA Energía.

In terms of investment, ACCIONA maintained a disciplined strategy, with a net investment flow of 2.401 million euros. Most of this investment was allocated to the Energy division, followed by Infrastructure and Nordex.
