ACCIONA Energía has successfully implemented an artificial intelligence-based system in the southern Chilean electricity grid, achieving a 60% increase in transmission capacity. This innovation will allow for the integration of an additional 239 GWh of wind energy, strengthening the system's sustainability.

A digital solution for renewable integration
The system, called Automatic Transfer Control , optimizes the performance of transmission lines and facilitates greater integration of clean energy. By incorporating more wind power generation, it reduces dependence on thermoelectric power and, consequently, its polluting emissions, representing a significant step forward in the country's decarbonization goals.
The optimization has focused on the lines Mulchén-Santa Clara 2x220kV y Santa Clara-Charrúa 2x220kV, located in the regions of La Araucanía y BiobíoThe project has involved the collaboration of multiple stakeholders in the sector, including network operators. Transelec, Ferrovial, SAESA, CELEO y Transmisora Sur Andes, as well as the generation companies Enel Green Power y WPDThe technical validation of the system was carried out using advanced simulations performed by the Universidad de Santiago de Chile and the National Electrical Coordinator.
