Adigital presents a decalogue in Brussels to promote the European digital agenda from Spain.

 

under the motto 'Shaping Europe's digital future from a Spanish perspective, with European ambition', Adigital unveiled its proposals in the Spanish Council for European Digitalization, an event that marked the beginning of the Spain Digital WeekThis meeting, held at door closed, sought to establish a strategic dialogue to improve the presence, positioning and public policy priorities of Spain in the European digital sphere, thus consolidating the Spanish voice in the economic agenda of the continent.

 

The opening of the Council was in charge of Nadia Calviño, President of the European Investment Bank (EIB), and Oriol Escalas, ambassador and deputy permanent representative of Spain to the EU. Escalas highlighted the strategic role of the Spanish public and private ecosystem to promote the digital agenda, highlighting the coordination and coherence demonstrated by Spain during its presidency of the Council of the European Union.

 

For her part, Calviño emphasized the crucial role of Spain in consolidating Europe as technological powerThe EIB President stressed the need to mobilize private investment so that ideas can scale and companies can innovate and unleash their potential: “Spain has a key role in positioning Europe as a technological power. Rapid technological change requires a large volume of investment in innovation and infrastructure And companies don't always have the tools to mobilize private investment and grow; hence, the importance of creating such instruments to allow ideas to scale, for companies to take risks and innovate to unleash their potential."

 

 

The Decalogue also includes international technological alliances and the expansion of the European Competitiveness Laboratory, promoted by the Spanish Public Administration, platforms to coordinate cross-border initiatives and guarantee measurable results.

 

 

Calviño reported on the launch of the platform TechEU, with which the EIB plans mobilize 250.000 billion euros by 2027 to cover the entire business cycle. He also mentioned the preparation of the second phase of the European Tech Champions Initiative, a pan-European fund with Spanish participation which contemplates extensions.

 

During the meeting, the following were highlighted: three 'P's that should guide Spanish action in Brussels: presence (to strengthen image and leadership), positioning and processes (to increase influence on community policies) and political priorities (focused on strategic sectors).

 

Rachel Jorge, director of European Affairs and the Brussels office of Adigital, stated that with the presentation of the Decalogue, Spain “raise your voice to put yourself at the center of the conversation about digital transformation of the continent”. Jorge also claimed the role of Spain as change engine with ambition to influence the technological future From Europe: “At Adigital, we assert our country's role as a driving force for change, with the ambition and capacity necessary to influence the decisions that will shape Europe's technological future. Spain is not just coming to participate: it is coming to lead., to propose and demonstrate that its digital ecosystem is ready to drive a more sovereign, innovative and competitive Europe on the global stage.”

 

El Adigital Decalogue It includes balanced and realistic proposals that seek to promote the technological champions of the continent, to promote a competition policy that allows the scalability of strategic companies without neglecting SMEs, facilitating the investment mobilization y simplify regulation.

 

The document underlines the importance of consolidating the European leadership in areas like artificial intelligence, semiconductors, and quantum computing, while placing the ciberseguridad and connectivity as pillars of digital competitiveness. In addition, it is proposed to promote the growth of startups and SMEs towards European leadership through Tax incentives, cross-border financing and process simplification.

 

The Decalogue also advocates international technological alliances and the expansion of the European Competitiveness Laboratory promoted by the Spanish Public Administration. With these initiatives, Adigital reaffirms Spain's commitment to a a more connected, innovative and competitive European digital economy, seeking to turn the country into a reference digital hub or with a strategic bridge towards Latin America.
