Marta Blanco participated in the panel 'Taking Africa-Spain Cooperation to a new level' where she highlighted the enormous opportunities that the continent offers, which are reflected in macroeconomic indicators such as the great growth of the population.

In this forum, organized in Madrid by ONE AFRICA with the support of the African Union and the OECD Development Center and whose duration was from July 6 to 8, prominent personalities met to delve into the relationships between Spain and Africa and various issues were debated such as infrastructure, food security, renewable energies, the role of women entrepreneurs or the African Continental Free Trade Area.

Specifically, Marta White participated in the panel 'Taking Africa-Spain Cooperation to a new level' where he highlighted the enormous opportunities that the continent offers, which are reflected in macroeconomic indicators such as the great growth of the population. Likewise, he gave some examples of successful business cooperation between Spain and Africa such as those in the textile and automotive sectors, with which a supply chain has been established that has also shown its resilience in recent years.

On the other hand, he stressed the opportunity that the initiative represents Global Gateway. The European Union and Africa face the same challenges of digitalisation, green transition and sustainable growth and, therefore, we must work together to face them. Lastly, he pointed out the essential role played by Canary Islands. in relations between Spain and Africa. In this sense, he commented that CEOE has announced this week the creation of the Spain Africa Business Council, an initiative whose objective is to create a network between African and Spanish business organizations that can maintain a permanent fluid dialogue. This Council will locate a Technical Secretariat in the Canary Islands.
