ALSA will operate its first transport service in France

[Img # 33667]The Spanish passenger transport company ALSA has been awarded its first bus transport service in France, and starting next December 15, two cross-border lines will operate in the region of Country of Gex (department of Ain, in the region of Auvergne-Rhône-Alps).

 

These are two cross-border services that connect the Country of Gex and the Swiss cities of Coppet and Nyon, both on the banks of the Lake Geneva. Specifically, they consist of the redesign of line 814, already existing, and the creation of a new line, 818, which is added to the previous one to improve mobility options in the area. Until now this service was operated by the Swiss public company NPWT in consortium with the French public company Régie Départementale des Transports de l'Ain.

 

 

 

For ALSA, this first service to operate in the neighboring country means improving its positioning in the French market for future tenders, while expanding and diversifying its activity in Switzerland.

 

 

 

ALSA will allocate a fleet of six buses to this new contract, which has a duration of four years. Mercedes-Benz latest generation hybrids, which guarantee minimum levels of polluting emissions. A turnover of more than 5,5 million euros is expected during the contract period.

 

To ALSA This first service to operate in the neighboring country means improving its positioning in the French market for future tenders, while expanding and diversifying its activity in Switzerland, where it is already present in the urban transport of Geneve -operating two lines TPG– in addition to alpine, school, tourist and discretionary transport services.
