The Andalucía Logistics Business Cluster and the Basque Country Mobility and Logistics Cluster have formalized a collaboration agreement with the joint mission of Boosting the competitiveness of the logistics and mobility industry in SpainThis pact, signed by Miguel Ángel Tamarit Almagro, president of the Andalusian group, and Eduardo Lasa, president of its Basque counterpart, establishes three priority axes of action.
Firstly, both entities undertake to promote the development of joint innovation projects, seeking advanced solutions to the challenges of the sector. Secondly, they will promote the dissemination of sectoral knowledge by organizing joint events and forums, promoting the exchange of best practices. Finally, they will work on training and capacity building support programs to nurture talent in the logistics industry.
The signing of the agreement took place during a meeting that brought together delegations from both organizations, including members of their respective boards. For the recently established Andalusian group, this meeting was an invaluable opportunity to Learn firsthand about the history and work of the Basque Cluster, which has two decades of experience representing the logistics industry in the Basque Country.
This alliance is also expected to serve as a platform to attract investment in innovative initiatives that can be replicated in other regions of Spain, consolidating the position of both clusters as leaders in the national and international logistics sector.
Eduardo Lasa, president of the Basque Country Mobility and Logistics Cluster, stressed the importance of this cooperation: "Interregional cooperation is of strategic interest for competitiveness, both by promoting innovation and by boosting joint access to new knowledge and business opportunities.". For its part, Miguel Ángel Tamarit Almagro from Andalucía Logistics, highlighted the expected impact: "We will work together to ensure that the initiatives launched by both clusters, in addition to benefiting their members, have a positive impact on the economy at the regional and national levels, as well as boosting the competitiveness of the logistics industry.".
To identify future synergies, the Basque Country Mobility and Logistics Cluster shared its new Strategic Plan 2025-2028This plan focuses on key areas such as urban logistics, intralogistics, long-distance and multimodal logistics, as well as new and connected mobility. These areas are based on three pillars of transformation: energy and green transition, the digital transition and sectoral competitiveness.
Both organizations have expressed their enthusiasm for this collaboration, hoping that the joint projects will not only benefit their members, but also boost the economy at the local and national levelsThe goal is to lay the foundation for a fruitful collaboration that allows the sector to adapt to rapid changes, promoting more efficient, safe and sustainable logistics.
This agreement, initially for two years and intended to be ongoing, will be tacitly renewed. To ensure its compliance and monitoring, a committee will be established and will meet at least once a year.
