Asturforesta 2025 boosts trade with Portugal with a successful reverse mission

The initiative facilitated the meeting between Portuguese distributors of forestry machinery and Asturian companies, strengthening trade ties and highlighting the strategic role of Portugal for the region's exports.

Renowned Portuguese companies such as Gruman and Forescorte Machines, whose representatives visited the fair on June 19, held fruitful meetings with exhibitors and companies from Asturias. Carlos Santos, from Gruman, emphasized the remarkable evolution of the fair in the last two years, praising its complete program of activities, which ranges from practical demonstrations of machinery in operation to technical sessions and the presentation of the prestigious Carbayo de Oro Award.

With an impressive exhibition space of 10.800 square meters, 124 exhibitors, and more than 250 brands represented, Asturforesta 2025 is establishing itself as the most important forestry trade fair in Spain. The event is expected to attract over 15.000 trade visitors, thanks in part to its unique format, which allows for the observation of machinery operating under real-life conditions, a feature highly valued by industry professionals.

The presence of Portuguese companies in Asturforesta underlines the strategic importance of Portugal for the Asturian forestry and agricultural sector. Portugal stands out as the main destination for Asturian exports of machinery in these sectors. In the overall foreign trade landscape, the neighboring country was the fourth destination for Asturias' exports in 2024, reaching a volume of €480,8 million, representing a 4,1% growth compared to the previous year.

This reverse trade mission, promoted by Asturex (part of the Sekuens Group), is part of a broader international promotion strategy. Its objective is to strengthen the presence of Asturian companies in key markets, fostering competitiveness and growth in the sector.
