BBVA Colombia consolidates itself as the main financial ally of large Colombian companies, mobilizing resources for more than $3.000 million (equivalent to more than USD 750 million) so far this year, destined for the development of strategic projects in various sectors.

Financial operations have taken place both in Colombia as in United States and they have a direct impact on the country's industrial sectors that boost growth in times of low economic performance, through both corporate financing and access to the capital market.

Among the operations that stand out are those carried out with Ecopetrol, a company that BBVA accompanied in the issuance of a corporate bond in the international market for 1.850 million dollars, as joint bookrunner, that is, the entity that had the task of structuring and placing the issue. This operation was requested more than three times and more than 200 international investors participated, evidencing confidence in the company and its appetite for long-term debt.

In addition, BBVA, together with a group of international banks, structured the refinancing of the credit used by Ecopetrol for the acquisition of ISA. This loan, in which BBVA participated with 250 million dollars and also served as Agent Bank, was executed for a total value of 1.200 billion dollars.

In the financial field, the issuance of the Bank of the West Inaugural Subordinated Bond worth 175 million dollars. The issue achieved an oversubscription of 1,3 times. BBVA acted as global coordinator, structurer and underwriter of the operation. This event marked a milestone as it represented the return of a Colombian bank to the international subordinated bond market since 2021.

BBVA was also present in a joint operation with four banks, in the issuance of 500 million dollars that it carried out Surah Group. The entity participated with an amount of 100 million dollars. This financing was used to acquire the remaining shares of Nutresa in the stock market and allowed it to complete the share exchange that it had pending with the Gilinski Group.

In addition, BBVA participated in the debt management of Sura Asset Management worth 350 million dollars, contributing an amount of 50% of the total financing. This transaction allowed the client to pay the maturity of a bond in dollars.

Likewise, BBVA participated with $300.000 million (75 million dollars), together with two other local entities, in financing the Chinese consortium, led by China Harbor Engineering Company, which advances the construction of the First Line of the Bogotá Metro

Additionally, the entity participated in the mobilization of resources for 308 million dollars to promote the development of the port infrastructure in the Buenaventura region. The resources will be allocated to the expansion of the main dock and its grab docks to improve the capacity of foreign trade.

In addition, BBVA provided a loan with a guarantee of CRUMB (Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency, member of the World Bank Group) for a total of $700.000 million (145 million dollars) to the National Development Finance (FDN), which represents a fundamental strategy to promote the development of national infrastructure. This type of financing supported by MIGA provides confidence to investors and allows FDN to obtain the necessary resources to finance projects.

Likewise, it closed with the energy company, Celsia, a mandate under which the BBVA M&A Advisory provides exclusive financial advice for the purchase of Wind Farms in Peru.

All these transactions demonstrate the quality of BBVA in Colombia and its global capabilities as a financier, structurer, leader in issues, derivatives and advisory in the area of Corporate and Investment Banking.
