Bankinter and Cesce facilitate the start-up of the Hidrolena Group solar park in Chile

El Golden Spike Solar Park, located in Chilean territory, marks the culmination of a joint effort between the Hydrolena Group, From Asturias, and the financial entities Bankinter and CesceConstruction of this photovoltaic installation was completed on January 14, giving way to a new phase of exploitation.

Bankinter played a crucial role by providing financing through an eight-year loan amounting to 2.600.000 euros. This investment was backed by Cesce's insurance coverage, under the modality of the Green Investment Policy.

The Green Investment Policy, launched by Cesce in 2022, has become a key instrument for financing sustainable projectsThis product covers the risk of non-payment of loans granted to foreign subsidiaries of Spanish companies, provided that the projects comply with the sustainability criteria established by the EU Taxonomy or Annex I of the Consensus of the OECD.

This project represents a significant step in promoting renewable energy and consolidating sustainable business practices.

"We are very pleased to see how this green policy, the first one we launched two years ago, contributes directly and tangibly to the development of sustainable infrastructure beyond our borders," says a Cesce spokesperson.

For its part, Bankinter has reaffirmed its commitment to sustainability, consolidating its position as a benchmark in the financing of green projects. The materialization of the financial support to the Hydrolena Group, through collaboration with Cesce, is a clear example of this commitment.

"At Bankinter, sustainability is a strategic pillar of our business plan. This project in Chile demonstrates our firm commitment to financing initiatives that generate a positive impact on the environment," says a Bankinter executive.

The Golden Spike project is aligned with the Sustainability strategy of the three entities involved. In particular, it contributes to one of the pillars of the Bankinter Sustainability Plan 2024-2026, that prioritizes sustainable business.

Cesce's Green Investment Policy offers comprehensive coverage, covering both political and commercial risks, providing security to financial institutions and companies that invest in sustainable projects abroad.

With this investment, the Hidrolena Group consolidates its international presence, specifically in Chile, where it already has significant consolidation in hydraulic and photovoltaic matters.
