In the bustling atmosphere of the MWC 2025, Barcelona and Hong Kong reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening their economic ties. The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Barcelona's town hall and the HKTDC, held at stand 6E44 of the exhibition hall Hong Kong, marked a milestone in the relationship between both cities.
The event was attended by Jordi Valls, fourth deputy mayor for Economy, Finance, Economic Promotion and Tourism, and Iris Wong, Merchandise Trade and Innovation Director, External Relations HKTDC. Both leaders highlighted the importance of this agreement for the future of trade relations between Barcelona and Hong Kong.
This agreement, which dates back to 2017, consolidates a historic relationship that dates back to 1966, when the HKTDC opened its first office in Spain, in Barcelona.
