The objective of the agreement is to promote knowledge in logistics among metal companies in Bizkaia through the development of awareness activities.
BERGÉ, a leading logistics operator, joins the Vizcaya Federation of Metal Companies (FVEM) as a collaborating partner after the signing of the agreement between Gorka Zabala – Dtor. Manager BERGÉ Bilbao – and Adolfo Rey – Dtor. FVEM Manager– who highlighted “the importance of establishing efficient logistics, a fundamental factor in the industry's value chain. From now on, we will have the expertise of one of the leading operators at the national and international level, which will benefit the competitiveness of our companies.”
The objective of the agreement is to promote knowledge in logistics matter among metal companies Bizkaia through the development of awareness activities. Thanks to this incorporation, various actions will be promoted on the importance of logistics solutions at the metal sector, as well as the international and maritime transport regarding the processes of import and export Plans Basque companies.
Specialized in different logistics areas (port operations, comprehensive vehicle logistics, value-added logistics and process outsourcing, and shipping), BERGÉ is a reference in the the Basque Country. It highlights its activities in the ports of Tickets and Bilbao, through its regular line services, consignment, stowage/unloading, as well as the internal factory management, storage and multi-modal transportation services that it provides to large companies in the steel sector, among others.
Thanks to this incorporation, various actions will be promoted on the importance of logistics solutions in the metal sector, as well as international and maritime transport for the import and export processes of Basque companies.
BERGÉ is present in 27 Spanish ports and Bayonne (France), with an annual activity of more than 26 million tons operated, 10.000 ships consigned, some 900 charter operations and more than 1.000 calls per year. Through its value-added solutions, BERGÉ It helps produce around 500.000 vehicles in Spain and manages 1,7 million tons of steel products.
For its part, FVEM represents the Metal sector, the most relevant in the Biscayan industry, where more than two thousand companies are concentrated that act as drivers of the territory's economy. This sector generates, only in Bizkaia, more than 3.000 million euros of added value, allocates more than 1.800 million in salaries and nearly 500 million in social contributions with investments of more than 300 million euros annually.
