The 45th edition of the International Tourism Fair (FITUR) On Madrid, which will be held from January 22 to 26, 2025, will have Brazil as a partner country for the first time. This milestone marks a significant step for the South American country in its strategy to establish itself as a global tourist destination. The agreement was recently formalized at the Brazilian embassy by the ambassador Orlando Leite Ribeiro and Daniel Martínez, executive vice president of IFEMA Madrid.
Brazil will have a prominent presence in FITUR 2025, not only through visual design and advertising campaigns distributed throughout the city, but also through an immersive stand located in Pavilion 3. This space will offer unique cultural experiences and opportunities to establish business relationships and investments focused on the sustainability.
With more than 250.000 visitors expected and significant international participation, FITUR is once again positioned as an unmissable event for the global tourism market
The growth of Brazilian tourism is evident; according to recent data from Embratur, until October 2024, the number of international tourists increased by 13% compared to the same period of the previous year. In this context, FITUR represents a crucial strategic platform to enhance the country's diverse tourist offer.
The Brazilian Minister of Tourism, Celso Sabino, highlighted: “Being the honored country at FITUR is an extraordinary achievement. We have closed a record year for Brazilian tourism, and 2025 promises to exceed our expectations both in terms of results and global visibility.” He also emphasized that this event will be key to show the country's potential during a year where it will also host international events such as the COP30 and BRICS.
For its part, Orlando Leite Ribeiro he claimed: “Brazil and Spain are allied countries that maintain a traditional and multifaceted cooperation… Spain must be considered a strategic partner.” Daniel Martinez also stressed: “This alliance strengthens the ties between Spain and Brazil… opening up new opportunities for tourism promotion.”
