The net balance between companies created and dissolved shows a positive figure of 43.240 new companies, which strengthens the country's business base.

Construction and Commerce lead the creation of companies

Sectoral analysis identifies Construction as the main driver of business growth, with 12.948 new companies established through July, representing a significant 16% increase compared to the same period last year. This is followed by the Wholesale and Retail Trade and Vehicle Repair sector, with 12.421 new companies, although it experienced a slight contraction of 0,6%. Real Estate Activities rank third with 8.417 new businesses, 3,9% fewer than in 2025.

Dissolutions on the rise: the challenge of business survival

In contrast to the dynamism in business creation, business dissolutions have also registered a 9,8% increase in the first seven months of the year. A total of 41.947 companies have ceased operations, compared to 38.188 in the same period of 2025. In July alone, 4.508 companies were dissolved, 15,7% more than in the same month of the previous year.

The trade and vehicle repair sector saw the highest number of closures, with 8.318 companies dissolved (+11,6%). This was followed by construction , with 6.130 dissolutions (+11,3%), and professional, scientific, and technical activities , with 4.924 closures (+8,4%). According to the report, this trend demonstrates that organizations continue to face challenges related to operating costs, financing conditions, and market competition.

By regions, Madrid It also leads the dissolutions ranking with 10.252 closures (+7,7%), followed by Cataluña (6.244, +10,3%) and Andalucía (6.236, +13,3%).
