Reinforcement in Brazil: Comprehensive maintenance for the Sao Paulo Metro
En Brazil, CAF has signed a contract with the Brazilian concessionaire of the Motiva group (formerly CCR), operator of Line 5 of the Sao Paulo Metro. This comprehensive maintenance agreement will extend for 14 years and covers the 26 six-car units that CAF supplied to Sao Paulo Metro in 2011. The work will be carried out in the workshops of Capão Redondo and Guido Caloi, ensuring the operation of the units that serve the populous Line 5 (Lilac) of the Metro.
This line, one of the six that make up the metropolitan system of Sao Paulo, connects important areas of the city such as Santo Amaro, Moema and Vila Mariana, transporting more than 600.000 passengers a day along its 20 kilometers. The signing of this contract consolidates CAF's operations in Brazil, a country where the company has been present since 1998 and has developed projects with a total value of more than 2.000 billion euros for clients such as CPTM, TRENSURB of Porto Alegre, CBTU of Belo Horizonte and the Sao Paulo Metro itself.
Continuity in New Zealand: Services on the Auckland rail network
At the same time, CAF has signed a new services contract with Auckland One Rail Limited (AOR) en New Zealand. AOR, a joint venture of ComfortDelGro and UGL Rail Services, is responsible for the operation and maintenance of Auckland's extensive electric rail network, owned by Auckland Transport. This network, vital to the country's urban mobility, comprises four lines, a stretch of 94 kilometers, and 42 stations.
The contract includes the provision of engineering services, training and supply of spare parts for the fleet of 95 electric units that CAF has delivered to Auckland Transport Since 2011, the project will last five years and will be carried out at the Wiri workshop in Auckland. This new project ensures the continuity of CAF's operations in New Zealand, reaffirming its commitment to developing sustainable transport in the region.
