The Cadiz Free Trade Zone strengthens trade ties with Tangier Med

The State Delegate to the Free Trade Zone of Cádiz, Fran González , along with Marta Domínguez , Director of Business Promotion and Foreign Trade for the Consortium, made a strategic visit to Tangier, Morocco . For two days, they were part of a mission that included the port community of the Bay of Algeciras , visiting the port of Tangier Med and other logistics and industrial facilities.

The visit aimed to strengthen existing trade relations with Moroccan logistics and port operators. Previous meetings had provided information on the customs-controlled areas in the city of Cádiz and the Bay of Algeciras , generating significant interest due to their strategic location.

The Spanish delegation visited the facilities of the Tangier Med port, the Tangier Automotive City and the Renault factory in the Moroccan city.

Tangier Med has experienced remarkable growth, ranking among the top 20 container ports in the world thanks to its strategic location connecting Europe, Africa, and the Americas. The trip also included visits to Tangier Automotive City and the Renault factory.

The port's economic success is partly due to the surrounding industrial development, which facilitates efficient exports. Collaboration with the Cádiz Free Trade Zone could further enhance these capabilities.

Fran González emphasized: “The importance of participating in trips like this allows us to learn about working models and analyze potential avenues for collaboration with neighboring venues. From Cádiz, we can contribute our nearly century-long experience in global trade.” He also thanked the collaborating organizations for facilitating this fruitful mission.

This trip has not only allowed us to strengthen contacts but also to present the competitive advantages and the Industry 4.0 model that the Cádiz Free Trade Zone is currently promoting.
