Free Trade Zone of Cadiz expands horizons in Colombiamar 2025: strategic alliance in the Latin American naval industry

The Cádiz Free Trade Zone has launched an ambitious trade mission to Colombiamar 2025 , an event that brings together key players in the Latin American naval and maritime sector . Accompanied by the Cádiz Naval Maritime Cluster , the delegation aims to strengthen strategic alliances and promote its innovative industry model, focused on sustainability and the Blue Economy.

Fran González , the State Delegate to the Free Trade Zone of Cádiz, emphasized the importance of this participation: “We are here to build strong bridges with our Colombian and Latin American counterparts. We want to share our experience in the transformation towards a more sustainable and technologically advanced industry, and at the same time, learn from the best practices being implemented in this region.”

The main objective is to strengthen ties with Colombian free trade zones and explore new opportunities for collaboration in innovation and the Blue Economy, thus consolidating its Industry 4.0 model.

The agenda for the delegation from Cádiz includes meetings with the Association of Free Trade Zones of the Americas (AZFA) and visits to prominent Colombian free trade zones, such as the Parque Central Free Trade Zone and the Cartagena Free Trade Zone . These visits aim to gain firsthand knowledge of the facilities and projects underway in these important centers of foreign trade.

“We are particularly interested in learning how Colombian free trade zones are addressing innovation and sustainability,” explained Marta Domínguez , Director of Business Promotion and Foreign Trade at the Cádiz Free Trade Zone. “We believe we can establish valuable synergies that will benefit both parties.”

In addition, the delegation will attend key events featuring Andalusian companies with a presence in Colombia. The inauguration of the new headquarters of Wiresa , a Cádiz-based company with over 50 years of experience in civil and defense construction, and the commemoration of the fifth anniversary of the Colombian headquarters of the Seville-based company Ghenova, are important events on the agenda.

“It is a source of pride to see how our Andalusian companies are expanding their horizons and contributing to the development of industry in Colombia,” stated José Manuel Fedriani , coordinator of Incubazul . “Their success reflects the potential of our business network and the quality of our professionals.”

The trade mission also includes meetings with key industry entities, such as the National Association of Business Owners of Colombia ( ANDI ), and visits to innovation centers like Econova Caribe and the Cartagena shipyards. A meeting will also be held with COTECMAR, a leading organization in research and technological development for the Colombian maritime industry.

“This is a unique opportunity to strengthen our presence in Latin America and to explore new avenues of collaboration in strategic areas such as innovation, sustainability, and the Blue Economy,” concluded Fran González. “We are confident that this trade mission will be a success and will lay the groundwork for future mutually beneficial collaborations.”
