Cajamar Innova launches a triple call to revolutionize the agri-food sector with water, agrotech, and foodtech startups.

 

Cajamar Innova has taken a step forward in its commitment to innovation and sustainable development, launching three simultaneous acceleration programs. This call represents an exceptional opportunity for startups seeking revolutionize the agri-food sector through technology. Application deadlines vary depending on the category: from March 24 to April 23 for 'agrotech', until April 30 for water projects, and until May 7 for 'foodtechThis differentiation of deadlines allows entrepreneurs to focus on the category that best suits their project.

 

Ricardo Garcia Lorenzo, director of Cajamar Innova, highlighted the importance of these programs: “We should ask ourselves why innovation has created more value in the last 50 years than in the previous 5.000. Perhaps it has something to do with the ecosystems that have been created and the innovative talent. And that is precisely what we want to foster at Cajamar Innova: innovative talent.”

 

 

This initiative seeks to promote disruptive solutions that transform the agri-food sector, offering entrepreneurs a unique opportunity to develop and validate their innovations.

 

 

Cajamar Innova stands out for offering a comprehensive and personalized support model, ranging from the formulation of viable business plans to the validation of technological innovations. Participants have access to a network of professionals and strategic partners, both nationally and internationally, and the opportunity to conduct pilot tests at the company's experimental centers. The nine-month program is divided into two phases: mentoring and pilot/validation testing. The blended learning approach facilitates participation by entrepreneurs from any geographic location, maximizing the initiative's reach.

 

Experience and results

 

This call for applications marks the fifth edition for water projects, the second for agritech, and the debut of foodtech, demonstrating the evolution and expansion of Cajamar Innova. Since 2021, the acceleration programs have supported 73 entrepreneurial projects, selected from over 500 applications at the national and international levels.

 

Cajamar Innova's impact is reflected in the creation of 210 jobs and the participation of more than 12.000 professionals and students in its training and knowledge transfer events. Furthermore, in 2023, the Ministry of Finance and Public Administration recognized Cajamar Innova as the best Spanish project co-financed with European funds.
