Observatory of the Spanish agri-food sector in the European context

 

Next Tuesday, July 8, the presentation of the eighth edition of the Observatory of the Spanish agri-food sector in the European context corresponding to 2024, published by Cajamar and prepared by Joaquin Maudos, deputy director of Valencian Institute of Economic Research (Ivie) and professor of Fundamentals of Economic Analysis at the University of Valencia, and Jimena Salamanca, Ivie research technician and associate professor in the Department of Economic Structure at the Faculty of Economics of the Universidad de Valencia.

 
During the meeting, the main data, trends and challenges of the Spanish agri-food sector will be presented, as well as its contextualization in a European perspective, providing indicators and analysis in key aspects such as the contribution of the sector to the Spanish economy in terms of value and employment, productivity and competitiveness, the performance of the different productive subsectors and the agri-food industry, consumption and prices, foreign trade, as well as spending on investments and innovation.
