The initiative, promoted by the network Enterprise Europe Network (EEN), was led by Proexca, the Technological Institute of the Canary Islands (ITC) and the Island Chambers of Commerce.
The mission, scheduled for October 13-16, was a collaborative effort by the EEN Canarias consortium to connect the islands' entrepreneurs with European mechanisms. The opening day featured the presentation of a variety of the EEN Canarias programs. European Union, tailored to the profiles of the participating companies and seeking to promote development in key areas.
Among the programs addressed, the following stood out: Horizon Europe, focused on promoting innovation and development; LIFE, focusing on environmental and climate action; and Digital Europe, focused on business digitalization. The Canary Islands Government Delegate in Brussels participated in the opening, emphasizing the importance of this direct connection with the European institutions.
The delegation brought together more than a dozen organizations and companies from Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, and El Hierro, representing strategic sectors such as agri-food, information and communications technologies (ICT), water, energy, tourism, and R&D&I.
During the information and advisory sessions, participants were able to learn about success stories, such as that of the Lanzarote company Sherwood Healthcare Senegal, who shared her experience as a beneficiary of a European project worth more than €5 million for the research and treatment of neglected tropical diseases in Africa.
In addition to the activities of networking To foster business cooperation, the mission coincided with the European Week of Regions and Cities 2025This participation enabled Canarian companies to connect with European initiatives in social, energy, social economy, and resource areas such as water, including specific actions for outermost regions, such as promoting digital connectivity.
This activity focused on providing concrete resources and financing mechanisms geared to the particular interests of the registered companies, also counting on the support of the European project Starrise, which promotes strategic innovation in the agri-food and logistics sectors, with operations in the Canary Islands through the ITC.
