The initiative, framed in the collaboration with the Center for European Studies at UCLM, seeks to introduce future professionals to the workings of the European institutions and community policies. During the meeting, Rodrigo outlined the main areas of work of the Directorate General and placed particular emphasis on the annual scholarship program aimed at young people from Castilla-La Mancha.
These scholarships represent a unique opportunity for young people to learn first-hand about the dynamics of the European Union and to learn about the institutional relations between the region and the UEThe program aims to train specialists who can contribute to strengthening Castilla-La Mancha's presence on the European stage.
In addition to scholarships, the session addressed other pillars of the Directorate General's work, including the crucial role of the European Projects Office (OPE), the citizen information and participation service Europe Direct Castilla-La Mancha, and the regional government's representation in community bodies such as the European Committee of the Regions. Aspects related to the communication of State aid and the operation of the Castilla-La Mancha office in Brussels were also discussed.
The meeting was characterized by the active participation of the students, who asked questions and shared their concerns. Particularly noteworthy were the interventions of current program recipients, who shared their experiences both in Toledo and in the Brussels office.
