The Catalan companies integrated into the CEPYME500 initiative have participated in the conference on Financing for growth and internationalization, organized by the Spanish Confederation of Small and Medium Enterprises (CEPYME) and Fepime Catalunya.
The president of Fepime and vice president of CEPYME, Mª Helena de Felipe, who has highlighted the prominence of medium and small companies in the Spanish economy and has pointed out that “an effort must be made to increase the size of companies, in line with the most dynamic and competitive countries in Europe”. SMEs, De Felipe has indicated, “have to grow and overcome obstacles.” tax and access to financing to get out of the dimension loop, which is a brake on innovating, exporting and competing in global markets. In turn, the Secretary of Business and Competitiveness of the Generalitat of Catalonia, Joaquim Ferrer, who spoke at the closing of the day, highlighted the work of small and medium-sized companies, which represent 98% of the business fabric of Catalonia and has pointed out that it is important that they know all the financing options that are within their reach to boost their growth and competitiveness.
According to what the organizing organizations have reported, the event has had the participation of representatives of the companies, who have presented their experience in processes of growth and internationalization. Eduard Romeu, vice president of Audax Renovables Group, an energy company, created in 2007, has told how its company benefited from the financing opportunities offered by the MAB. Along these same lines, Alejandro García, vice president of the pharmaceutical company King Jofre, has explained how his company approached the internationalization process, as a consequence of the company's history and growth.
The meeting was attended by companies such as Torrons Vicens, Euroaliment Grupo Pons, Transglobal, García de Pou, Nae Comunications, Premium Mix Group, and Promaut, among other companies recognized as CEPYME500 companies.
They have also intervened Eduardo Pons, general director of Euroaliment Grupo Pons, agricultural company that manufactures olive oil and Ángel Velasco, general director of Torrons vicens, specialized in the manufacture of artisan nougat -both companies CEPYME500-, who have explained how their respective companies have addressed the internationalization strategy, looking for innovative products to adapt to the demands of the markets and how they have accessed the necessary financing to tackle these projects.
At the meeting, the possibilities of accessing traditional financing and other financing alternatives were addressed. Among other experts, they have intervened Mario Buisan, director of the ICO Presidency Cabinet; Jesus Gonzalez Nieto, managing director of MAB Mercado Alternativo Bursátil (BME Bolsas y Mercados Españoles); Emma Montserrat, commercial director of the Catalonia Organization of Bankinter and Antonio Pulido, managing partner of Dynamic Financial Solutions for Corporates (DFSC).
As the director of Economics of CEPYME pointed out at the meeting, Carlos Ruiz, the objective of CEPYME500 is to promote the growth of Spanish companies and project their contribution to economic development and job creation. For it, CEPYME500 makes available to companies a series of tools that contribute to improving their management, promoting their growth and innovation and their international projection.
CEPYME500 is an initiative of CEPYME, which brings together a group of companies that are leaders in business growth.
