Cesce consolidates its green shift: 38% of its state-guaranteed portfolio is now sustainable financing.

Cesce strengthens its role as a driving force of sustainable internationalization of the Spanish economy. The company presented a comprehensive report in Madrid, coinciding with the 52nd OECD meeting on Export Credits, which details its firm commitment to sustainability and the fight against climate change.

This analysis, focused on the activity carried out on behalf of the State, shows that the sustainable financing has become a central pillar, reaching the 38% of the total managed portfolio, which is located at about 6.000 millones de eurosThis strategic change has been compatible with a increase in the total volume of insured projects, which the entity itself describes as a success case in the migration towards a greener model.

Hydrocarbon risk reduction and the rise of renewable energy

The commitment to decarbonization is directly reflected in the composition of the portfolio. Since 2020, live risk In the hydrocarbon industry, one of the sectors most exposed to climate transition risks, decreased from 42% to 24%This reduction is in line with national climate commitments, which seek a reduction of at least 75% in this type of risk by 2035.

In parallel, the participation in the renewable energy sector has been the most significant growth driver. Renewables have climbed from 6,9% of the portfolio in 2020 to 16,3% in 2024, materializing in 2.583 millones de euros in new operations. This reorientation in the typology of operations has had a direct environmental impact, since it is estimated that avoided 28,25 million tons of CO2 in 2024.

Green Policies and Climate Strategy

A key factor in this growth has been the launch in 2022 of the Green Investment PoliciesThis product is specifically designed to offer financing solutions to foreign investment projects with a clear sustainable component. Since its implementation, this new modality has meant two-thirds of new green hiring, securing projects worth 638 millones de euros just last year.
