Spain is Portugal's first trading partner

The objective is to promote business cooperation and commercial exchanges between Spanish and Portuguese companies, through individual meeting agendas with the main agents in the market.

Portugal It constitutes a priority and close market for Spanish companies, with growth of 6,7% in 2022 and 1,6% in the first quarter of 2023, according to the IMF. Spain is Portugal's first trading partner and in 2022 Spanish exports grew by 23%. In addition, more than 2.700 Spanish companies currently have stable investments in the Portuguese country.

 

The Portuguese government is committed to sustainable development and innovation, increasing the investment in technology, especially in the development of start-ups and the promotion of digitalization.

 

El National Plan 2030, in turn, is committed to the modernization and development of the railway network, the most notable work being the construction of the new high-speed line between Porto and Lisbon, with an estimated investment of 4.500 billion euros.

 

Sectors

Product manufacturing sectors with a greater component of innovation and technology: automobile, aeronautics, ICT, biotechnology and healthcare; digital economy, petrochemical, logistics, blue economy (or sea economy), environmental technologies and renewable energies. These sectors are priorities, but not exclusive.
