During the inauguration of the China Development Forum 2025 in BeijingLi assured that China will continue to expand access to its market and facilitating the integration of foreign companies, while searching safeguard free trade and the stability of the global supply chains.
The Chinese premier called for international cooperation and reaffirmed China's commitment to economic openingAt a time of rising geopolitical and economic tensions, Li stressed the importance of countries opening their markets and working together to address global challenges.
"China will continue to welcome companies from all over the world with open arms," Li Qiang declared.
"We will further expand market access, actively address businesses' concerns, and facilitate greater integration of businesses with Foreign financing in the Chinese market"The prime minister noted."
The premier also addressed China's annual growth target, set at around 5% by 2025. According to Li, this goal reflects the country's confidence in its governance capabilities and future development potential. "We will implement more proactive and impactful macroeconomic policies"We will further strengthen countercyclical adjustments and introduce new incremental policies where necessary to provide strong support for sustained improvement and stable functioning of the economy," he stated.
Li Qiang highlighted the recent dynamism of the Chinese economy, noting the emergence of new growth drivers across various sectors. "Around this year's Spring Festival, the Chinese economy has experienced a surge of significant developments," he explained, "with new growth drivers gaining momentum in various sectors, which will inject sustained and solid impetus into the economy."
The China Development Forum 2025, taking place from March 23 to 24, is bringing together some 720 people, including businesspeople, government officials, experts, and representatives of international organizations. This year's central theme is "Promoting development for stable growth of the global economy"It reflects the concern about the growing global economic uncertainty."
"The growing global economic fragmentation, coupled with increasing instability and uncertainty in today's world, underscores the growing need for countries to open their markets and for businesses to share resources to meet challenges and pursue common prosperity," Li Qiang concluded.
