At a key event for Spain's economic future, Ángela Pérez , president and CEO of COFIDES , presented the new Co-investment Fund ( FOCO ) during her participation in the roundtable discussion "Strategic Investments: Energy, Digital Transformation and Mobility" at Spain Investors Day . This forum brings together more than 40 listed companies and other large corporations, along with international investors and government officials, to analyze Spain's strengths as a destination for foreign investment.
Pérez emphasized the importance of channeling investment toward strategic sectors that strengthen the competitiveness of Spain's production model. He underscored that COFIDES acts as a supporting partner through FOCO, co-investing with international investors in projects that promote the green and digital transitions, as well as technological innovation.
The FOCO fund has already approved its first three deals with prominent investors such as Azora, Eurazeo, and Hy24 . “Endowed with €2.000 billion from the Next Generation plan , the FOCO fund has generated significant market interest,” Pérez stated during his presentation. He also revealed that there is a pipeline of deals totaling €1.000 billion expected to be approved in the first half of the year.
The round table also featured significant contributions from José Bogas (CEO of ENDESA), Francisco J. Riberas (CEO of GESTAMP), Beatriz Corredor (president of REDEIA), and Antonio Bandrés (director of the ICO). Moderated by Juan Francés , partner at Estudio de Comunicación, this session focused on exploring opportunities to transform Spain into a European industrial hub.
