DHL Express has inaugurated its new facilities in the Francisco Sá Carneiro International Airport in Porto, Portugal, with an investment exceeding 25 million euros.
The new terminal, which occupies more than 18.000 m², allows DHL to process up to 6.500 pieces per hour for imports (an increase of 150%) and 5.000 pieces per hour for exports (an increase of 300%). This increase in capacity will allow the company to record a double-digit annual growth in volume, consolidating its leadership in the logistics sector in Portugal.
In parallel with the expansion of its capacity, DHL Express also reaffirms its strong commitment to sustainability
La sustainability has also been a priority in this project. The facilities have 130 loading docks, 119 of which are for electric vehicles. In addition, the building is equipped with solar panels and advanced lighting and ventilation systems, which contributes to reducing the carbon footprint of its operations.
