At the direction and with the funding of the European Community Commission, the TEMPUS Programme was developed between 92 and 95 with the aim of familiarizing the aforementioned groups with the knowledge of the Institutions, languages and general aspects of the countries of the European Union.
Specifically, CECO was responsible for collaborating with the Budapest University of Business and Hospitality and the Budapest University of Economics, Faculty of Management, as well as with the Szolnok University of Business and Hospitality. The activities undertaken were extensive. Library resources were provided to the Spanish Language Department of the Hospitality School, and courses were organized for students of the Faculty of Economics on topics such as the European Union, International Trade, Business Management, Business Spanish, Marketing and Communication, and Teaching Methodology, specifically the case method.
Likewise, our Madrid facilities hosted 40 professors from the Budapest University of Economics who, in groups of five and for stays of fifteen days, participated in our training activities and received extensive information about the organization of our country and its economy.
Recently, as part of a training program funded by the Spanish Agency for International Cooperation, continuing education activities have been conducted for officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, specifically from the Departments of Foreign Economics, International Economic Relations, International Relations with Latin American Countries, and Policy with the European Union. Last year, they completed courses on International Finance, European Union Policies, Export Promotion Policies, and International Promotion and Investment.
The speakers included senior executives from Spanish public bodies and companies: Ministry of Economy, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Science and Technology, Ministry of Agriculture, Spanish Institute of Foreign Trade, Expansión Exterior, various Commercial Offices abroad, CIDEM (Business Information and Development Center), IMADE (Madrid Institute for Development), UNION FENOSA, Lucent Technologies, BBVA, Garrigues & Andersen.
The programs have included cultural visits to Toledo, Segovia, El Escorial, the Prado Museum, and the Royal Palace, to complement their stay in our country, giving them a more favorable view of it and which I hope will facilitate future economic relations.
While awaiting the arrival of new Hungarian officials, we take this opportunity offered by the Single Currency platform to send greetings to our friends Lazslo, Erika, Stefania, Ferenc, Julia, Tamas, Jozsef, András, and Imréné, hoping they will visit us again.
