Last May, Eurobrico was launched for the first time, arising from the clear need for a national and international event that specifically brings together everything related to the world of DIY.
The Mayor of Valencia, Rita Barberá, inaugurated the first edition of the Professional DIY Show, EUROBRICO, which was held jointly with DelColor, the new name for the Paint and Coatings Show in its seventh edition.
The first Professional DIY Show, "Eurobrico," brought together the main players in the sector. The president of this new fair, María Eugenia Cerdán, stated that Eurobrico is positioned as the most attractive option nationwide for manufacturers and buyers, since prior to this Valencian fair, the sector needed to visit several shows due to the fragmented nature of the product offerings.
The Professional DIY Show is born with the highest aspirations and expectations for growth, and will be held in the new pavilions of the Valencian fairgrounds, with the presence of the different subsectors that make up this important economic activity that is in undeniable expansion.
The event is structured into different sectors: Organization, Kitchen and Bathroom, Hardware and Electrical, Decoration, and Outdoor DIY. In addition to Spanish exhibitors, there were exhibitors from Portugal, Italy, France, the Netherlands, and Germany.
Parallel activities to the event were held, such as conferences on the DIY sector and new technologies applied to the sector, and a demonstration area.
Results
In this first edition, the response from the DIY sector has been very positive, with more than 5.000 professionals in attendance. The event was attended by leading brands in the sector and a strong international presence; buyers from nearly 30 countries, including Portugal, France, and Italy, visited the event.
At the end of the event, Daniel Marco, director of Eurobrico, could not hide his satisfaction: "We have seen the expectations of this first edition far exceeded and the exhibitors are very satisfied with the commercial results of the fair."
Ana Caballero, director of the Paint, Coatings and Related Products Exhibition, commented on the possibility of making the event an annual one: "The idea of a DELCOLOR and EUROBRICO partnership has worked very positively, so we are considering for the first time an annual event in April 2003."
