Europe Fashion Summit concludes its second edition highlighting innovation, sustainability and challenges of the sector

 

The event featured 50 national and international speakers and brought together 400 in-person attendees and 600 online, exceeding the figures from the previous year.

 

Liliana Briceno, founder of Latin People and organizer of the event, said: “This meeting has marked a before and after. The fashion sector needs more spaces to review and debate the issues facing the business, and innovation is the way to be more responsible with the environment and humanity.”

 

Pepa Good, director of the Association of Fashion Designers (ACME), highlighted the importance of the event for Spanish fashion: “This is a fundamental event for Madrid and, in general, for the world of Spanish fashion, because there was a lack of a space where designers and professionals could reflect on the present and future of the sector.”

 

One of the highlights was the analysis of Maria Merono, from StatistaRegarding consumer trends, she highlighted the rise of "genderless fashion" and "ultra-fast fashion." Additionally, Ximena Guzmán, brand director of Hawkers, and Beatriz de los Mozos, founder of Flabelus, stressed the importance of brand identity in capturing consumer loyalty.

 

In the area of ​​sustainability, Chisco García and Javier Fernández Poyo, innovation experts, outlined how the industry can adopt greener practices, while Ana Rodes, sustainability manager at Recover, highlighted the transformation of textile waste into high-quality fibres. He also said: Aecio DantasSilbon said: “The success of Second Life is facilitated when there are many points of sale and the team is aware. Let us take our limits on the planet.”

 

Another central theme was Artificial Intelligence applied to fashion. Juan Casero, from Zalando, he said: “Trends are created by humans. People will always be necessary because I have to teach the algorithm about fashion.”

 

The event concluded with the awarding of the Spanish firm ONRUSH, winner of the Fashion Accelerator Contest, for its focus on deconstruction and the artisanal process in haute couture.
