FGV has signed a contract with BRMobiladade, a company that manages different transportation services for the Sao Paulo Metropolitan Urban Transport Company (EMTU), which is responsible for the operation of the tram in Santos and its prior implementation. The agreement has been signed for a period of 22 months and the expected income for the public company of the Generalitat is 1,2 million euros for its training, advice and consultancy work.

 

The regional company contributes its experience in tram management, demonstrated in its 21 years of specific service in Valencia, for the design of the operation and maintenance of the new mine, which has begun with nine stations and a length of 6,7 kilometres, which can be expanded later.

 

FGV, thanks to the experience accumulated over nearly 30 years in the management of urban and interurban railway lines, is also collaborating with other Valencian companies on projects for the management and implementation of new railway transport services.

 

This activity means obtaining additional income to the company's own work and in turn expands the business opportunities of other Valencian companies, which benefit from the advisory work of FGV, ready to lend its support to international projects.

In the specific case of Santos, the trams have been designed and manufactured in Allbuixech by Stadler, a company that has purchased and assumed the contracts of Vossloh, in its plant AlbuixechThey are two-way vehicles, each 44 metres long and with capacity for 400 passengers and can travel at a speed of 70 kilometres per hour.

 

BRMobility He expressed his satisfaction with the work carried out by the FGV employees and described the partial commissioning of the tram as "successful." Following the training and support necessary for its proper operation once in service, the next step will be the maintenance of the new tramway.

 

The city of Santos is home to the largest port in Brazil and Latin America and is the symbolic capital of Sao Paulo. The city and its area of ​​influence have a population of close to one million inhabitants and has now begun to implement a tram network, with the aim of reorganizing the city's mobility.

 

Services contracted by BRMobilidade

 

Along with the advisory and training work, the contract signed with BRMobility It involves the transfer and assignment of FGV's own knowledge and technology required for the operation of the Santos tram network.

 

The contracted services include the preparation of the manuals and the Operations Plan; the establishment of a Safety Management System (SMS), the definition of the organization and structure for the maintenance of the facilities, with its corresponding Maintenance Plan.

 

Among the various phases of the contract, FGV is committed to training 72 drivers, 7 intermediate technicians and 8 regulators. The proposed plan includes training with a simulator, where the driver has all the driving elements and instruments.
