This strategic alliance seeks to strengthen traceability, quality and circularity in the management of industrial and commercial packaging waste, in the context of the recent regulations of Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) established by Royal Decree 1055/2022. The agreement prioritizes respect for existing management models, allowing waste generators to maintain their relationships with their usual managers under strict criteria of quality, traceability, and legal compliance.
"With this agreement, we further strengthen the existing collaboration between ENVALORA and FER "With the aim of advancing and jointly implementing the operational models designed by ENVALORA that allow compliance with the RAP for packaging and continue promoting the Circular Economy of packaging, an objective of both entities," he stated Isabel Goyena, general director of ENVALORA.

The agreement between the two entities focuses on several key pillars: promoting traceability and proper waste classification, encouraging selective collection and recycling of industrial and commercial packaging, collaborating on the creation of good practice guides for waste producers, establishing an ENVALORA Waste Management Commission with the active participation of FER to optimize the recycling chain, and working together to define standards for the classification and delivery of packaging waste in the medium term.
