For the second consecutive year, the European Commission chooses IVACE to manage the Scale UP program in collaboration with the CEEI Valencia

La second edition of SCALE UP will start in April and includes a plan of more than 50 hours of training and coaching with outstanding experts and professionals of recognized prestige in the business field such as Néstor Guerra, Maribel Vilaplana and Tomás Guillén, among others.

 

The 10 selected startups will benefit from a free mentoring plan that will allow them to design and implement their growth strategy in a SCALE UP Plan. The objective is to convert participating companies into scalable businesses with high growth potential, and therefore, more attractive to investors and public-private financiers.

 

SCALE UP It also includes the organization of an exclusive event in which participating companies will be able to present themselves to investors. In the last phase, 5.000 euros in strategic business growth consulting services will be awarded to the company with the greatest growth potential.

 

Although the program is valued at 50.000 euros, the 10 participating companies will benefit from all the services of SCALE UP, in addition to accessing an exclusive network of contacts with highly prestigious experts and professionals who will help them define and plan their strategy for the coming years.

Companies with scalability potential and that are in the phase of becoming a SCALE UP, find a gap in both support and training and information to make the leap towards globalization.

One of the aspects that the companies participating in the first edition of SCALE UP value most is having been in contact with public and private investors, with potential partners and clients. As highlighted Jordi Díaz, CEO and Founder of Play&go experience “What made us apply for the call were three aspects: training, we considered that there was a training gap to go from startup to scale up, to take that step from 10 employees to 50; “It has allowed us to acquire communication and negotiation skills, as well as network with other companies and get to know the local and European ecosystem.”

 

"During the months of scale up we have achieved four milestones: the consolidation of the business model, the development of the product creating a modular structure that allows us scalability, the seal of excellence of the European Commission and finally, obtaining different awards and recognitions,” he says. In this sense, the CEOs of the program agree that they have consolidated the business management model and have increased its visibility; during the mentoring They have addressed fundamental aspects such as marketing and market segmentation, the sales force, marketing and the fundamental resources of the company such as human resources. Daily contact with mentors has been positively valued since opportunities and needs arise on a daily basis that must be solved and executed.

 

The jury of the European program chose Casfid as a winning company. They also participated Aquareturn, Bionline, Bionos Biotech, Code Prisma, FruitsApp, Play and Go Experience, Koibox, Cronoshare and uncovercity.

 

SCALE UP It is an initiative of the European Commission through Enterprise Europe Network, developed in the Valencia by Valencian Institute of Business Competitiveness and the European Center for Innovative Companies of Valencia with the main objective of increasing the competitiveness of SMEs.

 

It should be noted that the program has been included in the Startup Guide Valencia, and considered a good practice for European Agency for SMEs from the European Commission which is why SCALE UP Valencia was featured in Enterprise Europe Network Annual Conference, in Vienna on October 24, 2018.
