Foreign companies are evaluating Petrom's assets

Three of the multinational companies that have entered the bidding process to acquire 33,34% of Petrom (National Petroleum Company) have already begun evaluating the company's assets in order to submit a formal offer to the Nastase government. These three companies are: MOL (Hungary), Occidental Oil and Gas Holding Corporation (United States), and Hellenic Petroleum (Greece). Meanwhile, the other shortlisted companies—PKN Orlen (Poland), OMV (Austria), Gazprom (Russia), and Glencore (Switzerland)—are awaiting the start of their respective evaluations. Furthermore, the Italian multinational ENI has announced its withdrawal from the process.
