El Government of Aragon y FRUIT LOGISTICA, the leading international trade fair for the fruit and vegetable sector, was held in Pignatelli Building in Zaragoza a key day for the promotion of agroexport regional. The event brought together professionals from the agri-food sector and buyers from strategic markets in Northern Europe, with the aim of exploring new opportunities and challenges in the Capabilities of Aragonese products.
The session was opened by Amparo Cuéllar HernandisThe Director General of Innovation and Food Promotion for the Government of Aragon emphasized the region's significant potential in global markets. "Aragon has much to offer the world: high quality products and a growing export focus. Events like FRUIT LOGISTICA are essential to continue positioning ourselves in international markets,” said Cuéllar, highlighting the importance of collaboration for the sector’s development.
During the day, crucial aspects of agricultural food exports were addressed. Ana León Lubias, plant health inspector of the Government Delegation of Aragon, explained the relevance of a strict phytosanitary control and compliance with international protocols. Subsequently, representatives of key markets such as United Kingdom and the Nordic countries shared their perspectives.
Jussara Ferrer, head of purchasing at the British company Produce Partners, highlighted the consumer trends in the United Kingdom, including the sustainability, the rise of E-commerce and the growing interest in organic. For its part, Paula Pigem, head of supply and sales at Greenfood Iberica, stressed the importance of the differentiation, the connection with the consumer trends and the social commitment, areas in which many Aragonese companies already excel with innovative proposals.
One of the highlights was the inspiring testimony of Nuria Izquierdo, administrator of Summer Fruit. This Aragonese company shared its experience in consolidating its international presence, attributing its success to a firm commitment to quality, the professionalization and the active search for new opportunities. Izquierdo emphasized that her participation as an exhibitor at FRUIT LOGISTICA has been instrumental in establishing connections with global clients, identifying trends and achieving sustained growth.
In the final phase of the event, Silvia de Juanes, communications director of FRUIT LOGISTICA in Spain, reminded the attending companies that the fair goes beyond a simple commercial meeting, becoming a true springboard for innovation and international projection.
