For two days, 1.000 tons of frozen vegetables have been loaded to the port of Savannah on the ship Green Costa Rica, from the shipping company seatrade.

This shipment is the first in a series that the Murcian company Fruveco is preparing for export to United States and which is destined for one of the most important supermarket chains in this country.

The Murcian fruit and vegetable company has sent all the product in less than two days to the frozen warehouses of Daniel Gómez Port Services in the Port of Cartagena and that it will take less than two weeks to reach its destination, U.S.

According to the president's words, Yolanda Muñoz, “the loading by the Cartagena stevedoring company, Daniel Gómez, has been a complete success since the flexibility of the shifts in the port of Cartagena means that loading is carried out in the shortest possible time and with the best price, making our port the most competitive in Spain.”

More and more companies in the region are choosing the Port of Cartagena for its agility in operations, its strategic location and its competitive prices, as reported by the president of the APC, Yolanda Muñoz. “An example of our competitiveness is that regional companies like Fruveco use the Cartagena docks to take their products to other continents.”

Fruveco is specialized in the production of frozen vegetables, which has two manufacturing centers, one in The Raal and another Murcia. Both centers are equipped with innovative technology that allows the conservation of frozen vegetables and are close to the growing areas to guarantee that the product is fresh. It is the European leader in the manufacture of broccoli and onion rings.

The president of the Port Authority recalled that in recent years the Port of Cartagena has been able to diversify its traffic by betting on scrap metal, wood, wind turbines and the offshore industry and planning a short, medium and long-term strategy to through projects that generate opportunities and allow us to gain competitiveness as Barlomar, the future multipurpose terminal that will allow doubling regional productivity as the main export port of the Region's products.
