Grupo Puentes will rebuild fourteen key bridges in Costa Rica.

Bridges Group, with almost fifty years of global experience, has begun the reconstruction and rehabilitation work on fourteen bridges in Costa RicaThese projects are part of the program Proeri, an initiative of National Road Council (Conavi) and the Ministry of Public Works and Transport to modernize the country's infrastructure network.

The total value of the contracts amounts to 31,6 million and the works are expected to be completed within a year. The main objective is the reconstruction of infrastructure that no longer meets current safety and capacity standards. The new bridges will be designed to meet the most stringent regulations regarding seismic and climatological risk, thus ensuring greater resilience and durability.

This new contract underlines the company's consolidation in the Central American market, which already represents a significant part of its international turnover.

The improvements are estimated to benefit more than 56.000 users who travel daily on these roads. The bidding process and the development of the project are supported by Unops, the United Nations Office for Project Services, which collaborates in the management of infrastructure for sustainable development.

The awarding of this contract reinforces the strong presence of Bridges Group in Costa Rica, where the company was established in 2015. Its previous experience in the region includes significant projects such as the rehabilitation and expansion of the Virilla Bridge, completed in October 2024, which increased its capacity to five lanes. In addition, in January 2025, the company completed the comprehensive rehabilitation of the bridge over the Barranca River.

With these projects, Costa Rica consolidates itself as one of the key markets for Bridges Group in the American continent, along with countries such as Chile, Panama, Ecuador and El Salvador.

The company has experienced significant growth in its international business. In 2024, its global turnover reached 434,6 millones de euros, which represents an increase of 26,6 % compared to the previous year. The 55 % of its total business volume came from projects in Latin America, which underlines the strategic importance of the region in the expansion of the Spanish company.
