For many companies, especially small ones, opening new markets abroad means undertaking a change in the way they have acted up to now in any of the areas of the organization, as well as facing a series of barriers and difficulties, assuming risks for which in many cases they are not adequately prepared.
SODERCAN and the Chamber are organizing this training day as part of their work to support for internationalization, with the collaboration of the consultant European Business Strategies, e3.
It is aimed at industrial companies, with the purpose of enabling participants to expand their knowledge and skills to face the difficulties they may encounter in the business internationalization process and to carry them out with the greatest guarantees of success.
Thus, the benefits and advantages that internationalization can bring to the business will be addressed, in terms of growth and diversification of sales; the barriers and difficulties that they might eventually encounter in foreign markets and that they do not encounter in the domestic market; and the methodology for the analysis and planning of the internationalization process.
During the session, concepts will be addressed. key to internationalizationWhy internationalizing the business might be worthwhile; what the minimum requirements and conditions are for starting or consolidating internationalization; what difficulties we might encounter when selling the product in foreign markets; and what protectionism we should be able to overcome.
To plan for internationalization, the following questions will be considered: Do we have a competitive and valuable offering that can be transferred to foreign markets? Is exporting possible? Do we have exportable products? Do we have the capacity/resources to undertake internationalization? How do we identify priority foreign markets? Which target customers would be priorities in these markets? What competition exists? What are the priority product-market combinations? What will our objectives and internationalization strategy be? What decisions should we make to approach foreign markets (by product-market)? What operational actions should we implement?
With regards to market selectionWe will cover what the tariff code is, how to identify the code or codes corresponding to our products, how much Spain exports and imports of our products: euros, tons, destinations of exports, origins of imports,...and how much the EU exports/imports (identification of EU member states that export and import) of our products.
