Industrial exports from Castilla-La Mancha to Egypt are characterized by a positive trend in the period 2021-2022.
The Institute for Foreign Promotion of Castilla-La Mancha (IPEX) promotes the group participation of companies from the industrial goods sectors in the “Direct trade mission to Egypt”, which will take place from October 30 to November 1, 2023.
Egypt has a population of approximately 103 million inhabitants. The Egyptian economy registers a high deficit in its balance of goods, caused, among other factors, by the requirement to import food and raw materials as it depends on foreign countries to satisfy the nutritional needs of its growing population. On the other hand, the increase in investment and the country's economic development have led to greater imports of machinery and capital goods.
Companies interested in the activity will have an individual agenda of meetings in Egypt, prepared based on the profile and interest of potential clients, as well as financial support from IPEX.
The growth estimate for the year 2023 for Egypt according to IMF It is approximately 4%. Since the beginning of the century, it has launched an ambitious process of trade liberalization and tariff disarmament. Above all, the Association Agreement with the European Union stands out, in force since 2004, which allows access for community goods free of tariffs.
