The agreement will focus on the new photovoltaic project, Oregon Trail Solar, a 57 MW facility to be located in Gilliam County, Oregon.
This project, with an estimated investment of $100 million, will feature approximately 100,000 solar panels and is expected to be operational in 2027. The energy generated will directly supply Amazon's data centers in the region, a significant step toward the company's commitment to decarbonizing its operations.

A Bond That Grows
This PPA is not the first agreement between the two companies, which demonstrates the strength of their relationship. The collaboration between Iberdrola and Amazon It extends to multiple projects in countries such as Germany, the United Kingdom, Portugal and Spain, totaling 68,100 GWh of contracted renewable energy.
In the United States, this is the second alliance of avangrid with Amazon in the northwest of the country. It joins the wind project Leaning Juniper IIA, a 98.4 MW facility also located in Gilliam County. In addition to Oregon, the companies have collaborated on similar initiatives in other states such as Illinois, Ohio, and North Carolina, further cementing their commitment to the energy transition.
