CEOE International, headed by Marta Blanco, receives the Dean Ambassador of the Group of African Ambassadors Accredited in Spain and Ambassador of the Republic of Gabon in Spain.
On July 13, the president of CEOE International, Marta Blanco, met with the Dean of the Group of African Ambassadors Accredited in Spain and ambassador of the Republic of Gabon in Spain, Patrick Arthur Moukala, in CEOE.
During the meeting, the president of CEOE International presented to the ambassador the next steps of the Spain Africa Business Council, an initiative presented at CEOE on July 3 in which the ambassador himself participated on behalf of the African embassies accredited in Spain.
Likewise, bilateral economic relations between Spain and Gabon were analyzed, as well as how to promote business cooperation between both countries, especially in sectors such as infrastructure, tourism or renewable energies. To this end, it was agreed to continue working together.
Gabon's economy has shown a constant development of 2,4% on average in the last 10 years, with a growth forecast of 2,7% according to the African Development Bank by 2023. Bilateral trade relations between Spain and Gabon reveal a historic trade surplus in favor of Gabon due to the import of hydrocarbons from the African country. Currently, Spain has a negative balance of 134 million euros and coverage of 25%. Although Spanish investment in the country is still small, there are companies present in the infrastructure, water, tourism and consulting sectors.
