The Córdoba company Jarota of Meats, dedicated to the production and marketing of fresh and frozen meats, has managed to establish itself as a benchmark in the international meat sector, exporting the 100% of its production from Europe to AsiaThis success is part of the momentum that has led Andalusia to achieve the second best historical record in exports in 2023, with 38.537 millones de euros.
Located in the Valley of Los Pedroches, Jarota de Carnes recently celebrated its tenth anniversary. Its manager, Jose Carlos Gonzalez, highlighted the importance of its location: “The environment in which we are located is unique for accessing quality meats, which also value animal welfare.”
Korea, Singapore and Vietnam stand out as major consumers of Iberian pork
The company invoices more than three million euros annually and has opted for the market diversification, managing to introduce products such as Iberian pork, beef, sheep and goats in European and Asian countries. Jarota de Carnes has had the support of Andalucía TRADE to expand its international presence. González acknowledges the importance of this collaboration: “We are satisfied with Andalucía TRADE (…). We are noticing that this work is having an impact and we hope it will bear fruit.”
The company also looks to the future with optimism, with new investments planned for 2024, focused on renovations and machinery. "The idea is to go a little further and undertake very promising projects," González concluded.
